Exploring Thailand – A Solo Traveler’s Paradise

Embarking on a solo trip to Thailand was a decision I will cherish forever. For two weeks, I immersed myself in the rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and culinary delights that this ‘Land of Smiles’ has to offer. Come and see the bustling streets of Bangkok, the breathtaking shores of Phuket, and the serene beauty of Chiang Mai through my lens.

The bustling streets of Bangkok are a food lover’s paradise. From savory street food stalls to bustling markets, the culinary scene in Bangkok is as diverse as it is delicious. The best part is how much food you can get for a small price. I even tried exploring Thailand on a budget to see what $10 gets you.

I found myself indulging in aromatic bowls of noodles, savoring spicy curries, and sampling exotic fruits at every turn. Bangkok’s numerous street food cultures truly captivated my taste buds and left me craving more.

Phuket stole my heart with its breathtaking beaches and crystal-clear waters. Whether lounging on the soft, golden sands of Patong Beach or exploring the hidden coves of Phi Phi Island, every moment spent in Phuket felt like a rejuvenating escape.

The stunning natural beauty of Phuket is unparalleled, and I found myself enchanted by the serene tranquility of this tropical paradise.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai offers a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Nestled amidst lush green mountains, this charming city is steeped in history and tradition. I found myself wandering through ancient temples, learning about Buddhist teachings, and immersing myself in the rich cultural heritage of Chiang Mai.

I learned a lot about Buddhism and I will be applying some of the teachings in my life. The most memorable lesson for me is that ‘Attachment leads to suffering’. The serene beauty of this city left a lasting impression on my soul, and I felt truly at peace amidst its tranquil surroundings.

Learning Buddhism: I visited Buddhist temples in Thailand (Reclining Buddha, Big Buddha, Wat…)

Memorable Experiences and Adventures

Throughout my journey, I was treated to a myriad of unforgettable experiences. From parasailing over the turquoise waters of Patong Beach in Phuket to trying exotic street food in Bangkok, every moment was filled with excitement and wonder. I found myself captivated by the rich cultural tapestry of Thailand and left with a newfound appreciation for the beauty and diversity of this incredible country.

Interesting Thing I Learned About Thailand

  • Elephant is the national animal of Thailand
  • Elephants eat up to 300kg of food daily
  • Buddism teaches us not to get ‘attached’ to anything

Travel Tip

Budgeting Wisely: Traveling on a budget doesn’t mean sacrificing luxury. By strategically planning my accommodations, I was able to experience the best of both worlds. By staying in a cheaper hotel for the majority of my trip and indulging in a more luxurious stay for a few nights, I was able to save money without compromising on comfort. This budget-friendly approach allowed me to make the most of my travel experience and create lasting memories without breaking the bank.

Use Airalo e-Sim: Get data and voice call plans with e-sim. Instead of buying a physical sim card, I noticed e-sims were much cheaper in Thailand. I’ve used Airalo eSim to stay connected to my loved ones while traveling in Thailand, Turkey, and Mexico. Use my referral code ‘BISOLA1294‘ for $3 off.

I save for my travel funds in a high-interest savings account. Learn more about the benefits of using a HISA
