I love spending my summer months in Canada cos seriously there are so many fun things to do with friends and family. Last summer, my parents visited and my siblings came around too; it was truly a memorable family vacation for me. As a Toronto gyal and an adventure junkie who loves to explore, I’ve done almost all the fun things to do in the 6ix. I’d argue that I have the perfect Toronto summer guide with the best activities and things to do.

This guide includes an itinerary for literally everyone! You’d find Family-friendly activities, Tourist attractions, Newcomer, Couples, Adrenaline Junkie, Restaurant recommendations and the list goes on. Without saying too much, let’s go!

Family Friendly Activities

  • African Lion Safari: Just about an hour’s drive away from Toronto. This is the perfect family day activity
  • Niagara Falls: Need I say more? This is the most popular tourist attraction in Ontario. Try the Hornblower boat ride, Overwater Zipline, Niagara SkyWheel, Skylon Tower ft Glasswalk, Helicopter tour, get Clifton Hill Fun pass, and walk around the “street of fun”. There are so many fun things to do in Niagara Falls that I’ve been there 4 times and probably will again
  • Canada’s Wonderland: Do you or any of your kids love big thrills? You’re certain to have the time of your life here! With the best roller coaster rides, waterpark, food, and KidZville there is something for everyone at Canada’s wonderland.
  • Wet ‘n’ Wild: Perfect for a hot day in the summer. This waterpark has attractions and slides for everyone. I’ve been there twice and I enjoyed it both times.
  • Visit CNE: the Canadian National Exhibition typically runs at the end of August but if you happen to be in the city during that time, I think you’ll love it. From rides to street food, art exhibitions, games, and more. Your kids could also stand a chance to win some amazing prizes.
  • Blue Mountain: This ski resort is well known for both winter and summer activities. You won’t regret going there. Be sure to book ahead before the long drive!
  • Beach: Pack for a picnic and enjoy some sunshine at Cherry Beach, Woodbine Beach, or Sugar Beach *with cute pink umbrellas*

Pro Saving Tip:

For family day activities, think of it more like a picnic. Pack some food, drinks, snacks, sunscreen, and umbrellas. This will save you money and prevent your kids from fussing.  Book weeks or months ahead.
